I met John late last year when I joined the GM tour. I wish I could have spent more time with JR but I certainly laughed a lot every time we were together, thanks to his great sense of “ribbing” and humor.

I remember a few weeks ago at the Prague Hotel, my room was on the “John Roden Executive Floor” and we particularly enjoyed the complimentary Espresso/Cappuccino Maker that was conveniently located right by the elevator.

On the way up to our rooms before checking out, I was in the elevator with John and his next unsuspecting victim (which, thankfully was not me!).

When we stopped at Floor 4 (JR and I were on 5), John waited for the other person to exit and as the elevator doors were closing he said: ”Oh sorry, too bad YOU don’t have a FREE Cappuccino Machine on YOUR Floor…”.

Of course: Perfect Delivery, with that classic mischievous smile…
